Of broken thoughts and "ferris wheel rescue"

I guess I ought to try out this Ning blog, although I have my own already at Off the Mark.

I figured I'd begin by attempting to explain the [dang, what is it called] thing on my profile page that is the same as the title of this post. My first blog was called ...the thoughts are broken..., before I got my own domain last July. It was live until just a few weeks ago when my TypePad account ran out. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet up with you over my summer-session. I'm taking only one class through UIUC (the other 6 credits I'm taking will be in London) so I was only on campus for 8 hours, then back on a train to chicago to visit a childhood friend. I do keep up with your blogs and Things-Read, and hope to continue to do so while overseas. Hopefully I'll be able to track you down in the fall, I'm taking Cataloging, Collection Development and Searching Online Information Systems...so I'll be there for a while! All the best...

Here's a belated Congratulations for the mention in AL Direct! I feel like a dork for not noticing it- in my defense, I was on vacation and blissfully ignoring the online world. :) It seems like they're noting LIS students a lot lately.

Thanks! (for the congrats)

I've almost got school paid for now, which is a great feeling. I am somewhat militant about staying out of debt. :)

Hey Mark, after reading your blog a few days ago regarding the "No versus Yes" to all technology conversation you had with a blogger, I thought you might think this article is interesting: http://www.libraryjournal.com/article/CA6435552.html
:o) Cheers!

Just wanted to make sure you'd be about...last time I'll see you for a while. Are you going for any of ALA national this year? It's on my coast so I'm thinking about maybe driving down for one day.
