Students in Library and Information Science (and recent grads and friends)

I just got my first rejection notice from a job application. I really didn't think I would be cut on the first round. My cover letter is pretty good, but I don't have a whole lot of experience. So, this job hunting business might be a bit more tricky than I supposed. Some people think it might be the school I am attending, but I didn't think that only people who attend the top schools get jobs. Am I out of touch?

I've got a little while till I put my degree to the test. I hate that when you think you're absolutely perfect for something and then don't get it. I've had that happen several times, just not in the library world yet.

I was prepared for the idea of rejection letters, but man I thought I had it all for this one job. Ha! A humbling experience. I had not considered that the school would be a big thing either. If you find out differently -- don't let me know about it! ;)

Ick. Rejection letters suck. I wouldn't be too worried yet, though- I know people that got a few rejection letters, but still had a job within months.

I personally don't think the school is too big a deal. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. :)
