Professional Organizations
I joined ALA, PLA, NCLA...so now what?
Everyone encouraged me to join professional organizations because they'll look good on the resume. Aside from that reason and looking forward to my first (and potentially only) annual ALA conference, I have no clue as to what I should be doing with my membership to these organizations.
How does one start? Why do I have to pay for the ALA New Members Round Table in an organization that is so vast and sprawling? Where can I find guidance?… Continue

Four more months!
My program finishes at the beginning of August, and I am ready to start counting down the days now. I am yearning to be out of school and have a job already! Three more classes to go! Hooray!

Thanks for the sweet comment about my profile "portrait," which was created for me by my six year old grand daughter, Ava Rose. The really funny thing about this drawing is that it does actually look like me! My eyes are a bit larger -- but Ava managed to capture my round face, hair style and color, my mouth, and even the costume jewelry "pearls" I wore the last time she saw me in person.
